Science is more than a subject. It’s part of everything we do. The more we understand, the more we can appreciate and conserve our natural world. Join us for one or all eight MAD LABS taking place on Friday mornings throughout the summer for hands-on, scientific activities that will encourage kids to experiment, learn, design, create, investigate, and more. Get your lab coats ready – we are going to get mad in our lab!

June 21: SOLSTICE SCIENCE: On the longest day of the year, we’ll learn what makes summer summer, and how our environment is affected by daylight.

June 28: ENGINEERING: We’ll experiment with different materials and shapes and figure out out what makes things both strong and light.

July 5: BOOM: Learn the physics behind all that noise on the 4th of July!

July 12: BUGS!: Do you know the role all the creepy crawlers play in our ecosystem?

July 19: ANGIOSPERMS: AKA Flowering Plants – We’ll collect and dissect specimens and make our own labeled pressings.

July 26: COLOR: Did you know that red has a longer wavelength than blue? And why do some people view color differently than others?

August 2: CODING: How do computers work? Can you think like a computer?

August 9: MAGIC….well not really! The science behind party tricks!
