This week I have been working on debugging the code that runs in the Arduino. I am trying to get the code to output the correct amount of milliamp hours so that I can work to find an equation to estimate the state of charge. I have been running tests on the battery pack, charging and discharging the batteries so that I can collect enough data to work out the bug in the code. This has been a challenging process because the discharge cycle outputs the correct amount of milliamp hours but the charge cycle is off by a significant amount. This means that I will have to create a new piece of code that works specifically for the charge cycle.
The CubeSat has been running into some difficulties while we have been here. Last week, while the cube sat was in the thermal vacuum there was a short circuit somewhere inside of it. This took Andrew and his team a long time to work through and fix. Once they put the CubeSat back into the vacuum the thermal vacuum broke down so they could not continue testing. The CubeSat has run into many problems while testing, but Andrew and his team have been able to fix each of them.
