Hello! My name is Zoe Schiffer, and I am currently a junior at Ouray High School. This summer, I have the wonderful opportunity of a STEM internship through the Pinhead Institute. I am incredibly excited for this opportunity to not only gain real-world experience but, more importantly, to learn how STEM can actually be applied in the real world. Since taking chemistry in high school, I have been fascinated by that subject of science. I am also interested in math, which is why I think my favorite science subject is chemistry.

I have a very logical thought process, which is why the subjects of math and science have appealed to me for as long as I can remember. I love asking questions, even about the simplest things, just to understand how the world works.

In my off time, I am a competitor for the USA Ice Climbing Team. I compete both on the women’s and youth team, for both difficulty and speed climbing. This sport has brought me to many places and has allowed me to make so many friends. I also love reading, baking, and exploring new places .

I am so excited and grateful for this amazing opportunity this summer!
