Reeve Johnson_Using AI tools to predict stock prices: week 2, webhooks

Week 2 was focused on linking the buy/sell signals to a webhook.  A webhook is an https callback link that can be used to communicate information between two different applications. In this case, I was aiming to link the buy/sell signal I created in Trading View to a future Python code that will be run on my mac terminal.

I wasn’t familiar with what type of webhook to use.  However, I had a few conversations with my mentor, Moiz, and he helped me choose the appropriate webhook. The majority of the work consisted of downloading the necessary applications to successfully run the webhook. There were several times when I encountered previous installments of software that were either outdated or nonexistent.  This caused me to go through a relatively lengthy troubleshooting process where I had to decipher all the errors and trace them back to their origin.  I probably did this process three or four times.

Once I finally was able to launch the webhook, I then used the webhooks given link and entered it into Trading View.  At this point, any time a buy or sell signal occurs from the code I have in Trading View, the information is relayed to the webhook link.  Next week, the goal is to create a Python code on my terminal to receive the webhook information and print out to the terminal the info that is received.

Outside of this internship work this week, I finished two lacrosse tournaments in Philadelphia.  I was able to see a Goose concert outdoors in Philly with a good friend from school.  I then flew home to Telluride and spent time with my family.
