Hello! My name is Izzy Giroir, and I’m currently attending Montrose High School as a junior. I’m extremely grateful for the internship that Pinhead will be providing for me this summer, and am ready to take on such an exciting experience.

Jazz trip at the Broadmoor

Throughout high school, I have developed a passion for all things science. In line with this interest, I have also taken a number of science classes such as Human Body Systems, AP Biology, and AP Chemistry. I enjoy the process of research and data analysis, whether I’m working independently or collaborating as part of a team. Once I graduate, I hope to pursue a degree in neuroscience, as the brain has quickly become an area of interest for me. Such a field is still largely unknown, yet the knowledge it provides is so incredibly valuable to society. Because of this, I can’t wait to learn more about it, as well as hopefully contribute to the field later on in my career!

At Silver Jack

I’m also interested in learning more about the various responsibilities and roles that I will have to fulfill after I graduate. Living in a small town means that experiences and opportunities are often limited, and so I would like to expand my knowledge of what life will be like after I move out. I’m extremely appreciative that this internship will give me such an opportunity, and I am looking forward to the new people I will meet and build connections with later this year.

Wizard of Oz performance

Beyond my academic life, I enjoy reading, getting outside, and playing in my school’s wind ensemble and jazz band. Most of all, I enjoy doing aerial – a form of acrobatics. My main apparatus is the silks, though I also have performed some acts on the lyra and have experimented with the trapeze. Throughout my time at Weehawken Creative Arts and High Alpine Aerial, I have participated in more than six productions and hope to be in many more!

I hope that this blog will be informative as I start my journey as a Pintern and would once again like to express how much I value and appreciate this opportunity!
