Hello, my name is Katie, and I am a Junior at Telluride High School. I am strongly interested in neurodivergence and ancient medical remedies for neuro-related illnesses. I pride myself on being a fast learner and am always willing to take accountability for my mistakes as part of my ongoing journey of learning and improvement. In addition to my academic pursuits, I serve as the captain of my robotics team, where I take charge of projects and enjoy leading. I also actively participate in roles within the National Honors Society and Rotary Interact Club, supporting fellow leaders in various initiatives.

My upbringing in Cusco, Peru, and in Colorado has allowed me to see the world through diverse perspectives. Witnessing cultural shifts has sensitized me to the unfortunate consequences of the lack of education and bias. This upbringing has fueled my passion for making a meaningful impact through STEM. I am particularly drawn to opportunities that enable me to apply my skills towards helping underserved communities gain access to balanced healthcare worldwide.

Ps. This is a picture of my cat Qoya who has been a rock for these past few months.

Thank you for reading.

Sincerely,
Katherine (Katie) Pumayalli
