Hello Everyone!

This was my second to last week here in Santa Barbara. If you haven’t been following along my internship is going through transect images and identifying species, more specifically, Boring clams (clams that bore into rock).

Monday I spent all day identifying these clams. Throughout the images I also was able to identify many other creatures such as Nudibranch and even certain species of fish.

Tuesday I attended a lecture for a marine biology class that my mentor helps teach. This lecture focused on estuary habitats and went over the importance of some labs that we did in the past few weeks.

Wednesday I again worked on clam identification. I moved on to a different location with not as many clams. After I was finished I went on a walk along the coast.

Thursday I identified clams. I had a pass to the dining hall so I went there for lunch.

Friday I identified clams and talked with another intern about things to do downtown.

Saturday I went into town to shop and explore. I visited multiple antique shops and flea markets that people in the lab recommended. I also got some food I wanted to try such as Shuba Shuba and Beignets.

Sunday I relaxed and caught up on some work I had to do before school starts.
