I hereby dub this week one of our most productive weeks! Caroline and I finished the work assigned to us by Andrew. When he came back from Guatemala, we discussed what exactly I should do for Maxwell. He figured out that the CuE3 TVAC mounting plate can be used for Maxwell. However, a unique plate that fits Maxwell will have to be designed to fit in the old TVAC plate. It will also have to go around obtrusions in the Maxwell CubeSat. After that, Andrew taught a class about applying solar cells onto boards. The technique wasn’t an exact science, but many were thankful for this new method.
This is the bottom of Maxwell, the unique amounting plate has to accommodate the large circle.
Pictured here is the CuE3 TVAC mounting plate.
Caroline and I agreed this week was the hottest in Boulder! From 80-90 degrees daily we were desperate for a cool respite. That is why we swam in the creek. The water was freezing at first, but after you accept it, it’s refreshing! Then Jean invited us to go to Press Play with Shea. Press Play is an awesome old school arcade. Caroline and I played Frogger, Donkey Kong, Centipede, and Mario! Despite these new events, the rest of our week was pretty normal. We went to Ku Cha to drink tea, and we had a few Chinese nights!
After searching for a while, we found a secluded spot on the creek.
This is a Matcha Latte with Boba from Ku Cha’s.
We had so much fun these past three weeks with Jean and the kids. We sure are going to miss them since we moved on Saturday. However, I got to meet Carol Conzelman, an Anthropology professor at CU, her husband, a professional fisher (Frank Smethurst), and their awesome daughter Mallory! Since we have moved we are now going to experience a larger sense of responsibility and independence. We are so grateful for the chances that are presented, and the ones we have taken.
Miles biked: 151.3
Dogs we have petted in Boulder: Many!
