Wow, I am already half way through my internship and it has been amazing. This week we began preparing for a new grant, and the other interns and I were tasked with researching any similar studies done in the past, as well as creating a timeline for the grant. We will present our findings this upcoming Monday through a presentation in which we summarize the different scientific papers we read. This past Wednesday, my fellow interns and I began working on data processing, which consists of a multitude of steps, but it was extremely interesting to look through different data sets to find any outliers or abnormal readings.
To get to our internship, Anza and I have been taking the local bus, which takes about 15 minutes to get us to the Frazier rehab center. I was also given a University of Louisville visiting student ID pass, which allows me to ride the bus for free and go to a nearby gym at a discounted price.
This week was also my first week with my new family and fellow pintern, Anza, and it has been amazing. The host family has introduced me to many different things, such as oatmeal and granola cups, and I am absolutely addicted. We also got to explore some of the local coffee and ice cream shops, as well as the farmers market which pop up each Saturday. Today, Anza and I decided to go to a local coffee shop that allows you to hang with kittens who have been rescued by the humane society.
This next week I only have my internship Monday-Wednesday, for Thursday is the 4thof July. I am excited to see the festivities and celebrations here in Louisville.
Very sick!
