Our annual fundraiser, the Science of Cocktails, was a hoppin’ good time as our six mixologist teams shook, stirred, emulsified, and acid balanced their ways to local fame with chemically-inspired cocktail creations while DJ Apoc kept the tunes rolling.
Kudos to Colleen Thompson and Megan Miller of the Cornerhouse for not only dressing the part of mad scientists, but for creating the Perfect Pinhead Potion as judged by our panel. Their Electric Cocktail Acid Test went heavy on the science of pH levels in a light, berry/citrus concoction.
Doc Joe Alaimo of the Trail Town Still took home the People’s Choice Award with his Pomegranate Paradise made with his own hand-crafted, small batch rum.
Patrick Laguens (of Wine Geek Food Freak) scored Honorable Mention for playing with viscosity in a twist on classic sangria- Xangria.
Shout outs also go out to our other three fabulous mixologist teams including:
Bryan Thames of the New Sheridan Chop House
Trang Pham of Slurp/Coffee Cowboy
and Clayton Smith and Johnny Schuette, AKA Clayton and Johnny’s Excellent Adventure
Special thanks to everyone else who helped make the night fantastic, including:
Many of this summer’s Pintern class for helping out with anything and everything!
DJ Apoc for keeping the mood festive
Sutcliffe Vinyards for pouring its amazing wine
The many generous, local restaurants who graciously helped feed our crowd
Our silent auction donors and supporters
And last but not least, everyone who came out to support Pinhead!
