Over the last week I have done more work in Reno doing lots of core sampling to use on the spectrometer. Then I went with Gary and Lucia to lovelock NV. This is a small town that has not had any mine activity for a long time and the exploration company I am working for is looking into an old claim that may have potential. Many other companies have drilled and sold the property because they were looking for a carlin type deposit while the geologists at Timberline are exploring into an epithermal deposit.

To get to this claim we would drive for about 45 minutes strait into the desert away from anything. The work here consisted of taking samples at every outcrop of rock, old mine workings, and some float samples. later at the hotel we would run all of the samples on the spectrometer. Once we covered the majority of the claims after a few days we headed back to Eureka NV.

Now back in Eureka I have and will continue to take many soil samples while plotting them on a very sophisticated GPS unit. It sure feels good to be back in Eureka where the climate is pleasant. All of this work is just small parts to the puzzle that each mine has to go through before it is even economically considered and planned. IMG_0572

Here is a picture of a large chunk of Arsenic that I found on the property. This is poisonous so I was careful but it is a good gold indicator.

This is a rock full of fossils that I found, it is a way for us to know how old the rocks are by sending it to a paleontologist.
