Hello Everyone! Another really awesome week here at EGI. I spent most of my time at the internship this week working on the project me and the other Intern at my lab have been working on, which is a video presentation that will explain how carbon can be stored in below the surface of the Earth through trapping mechanisms and the characteristics of rock formations that are suitable for the injection of carbon (more permeable equals more space for the carbon to fill). Updates were made to our video presentation following my field trip to the Uinta basin last week where I learned how to use a permeameter and other characteristics of the sandstone formations I have been looking at such as the difference between horizontal and vertical permeability.

On Wednesday night I left Salt Lake on the Amtrack California Zephyr train which took me to Grand junction where I then took a bus to telluride to spend my fourth of July with Friends and family. The parade was super fun and I went to a few Barbeques and had lots of good food. the rest of my weekend was spent doing the via feratta and paddleboarding/fly fishing at trout lake on Saturday and then on Sunday I spent the whole day going back to Salt lake City on the same bus and train that I had taken there. Hopefully next week we will be able to get close to finishing the information on our final video so that the week after we can film and then have our final product.
