Hello! My name is Reign Icasiano, and I’m a current high school Junior ready to take on the challenges of the STEM world. I am a hard-working and driven problem solver, determined to make the most out of this Pinhead Internship. Being involved with different clubs at Montrose High School has naturally led me to engage myself in leadership and officer roles, giving me the opportunity to immerse myself amongst my peers, gaining strong collaborative and teamwork skills. In the future, I hope to take what I’ve learned from this internship and apply it to my career path in neurology.

This was my friend and me in our Human Body Systems class, learning about bones in the body!

The brain is such an interesting topic, and I can’t wait to learn more about it! Its functions and never-ending mysteries never cease to amaze me, and through this great program, I get to experience hands-on learning in what I truly want to do when I’m older. Learning and curiosity are a big part of who I am. I always take every opportunity to expand my knowledge, not only in the STEM categories, but in the big world as well.

In addition to learning, I also believe that leadership is an important quality to possess. At Montrose High School, I’m highly involved in the different organizations, giving me the opportunity to lead as Junior Class President in Student Council, as well as having leadership positions in NHS and Riverwatch.

This is me on the podium getting ready to conduct the band at our Regional competition.

Outside of school and academics, I always love to go back to the world of performing arts, as it is an outlet for self-expression. This past year, I was selected as a 2024 Pride of Montrose Marching Band Drum Major, which is a huge honor that I’ll never forget. Being able to combine leadership and something I love to do was really big, as they both have a huge impact in my life. I also love to dance, and participate in different styles like ballet and jazz at Weehawken Creative Arts. This past winter semester, I got to perform the role of the Sugar Plum Fairy in our company’s production of the Nutcracker, which has been a dream role for me since I was a little kid.

My ending pose with my partner at the end of our Sugar Plum Pas De Deux!

As I explore my internship this summer, I hope my blog is able to fill your mind with not only my adventures, but also knowledge and information that impacts the world in the best way possible!
