Hello,

I’m Azari Guerrero, a junior at Telluride High School and a 2025 Pinhead intern. I’m independent, hardworking, caring, and bilingual. These qualities have helped me engage deeply in my studies and maintain great grades. In my free time, I volunteer with the Latino community as an interpreter at the local food bank, which has allowed me to connect with my culture and develop skills in helping others. I hope to apply these experiences to future work, especially in research beyond the lab.

Making big commitments has been challenging for me, which is why I pushed myself to become a Pintern. I’m looking forward to gaining experiences that will help me make bigger decisions in the future, such as career opportunities. I love tactile learning and traveling, so I believe this program is perfect for me. I was so excited when I got the call that I was going to be a 2025 Pintern, and I can’t wait to go out into the world to learn more.

My trip to San Fransisco, California

Regarding my hobbies and non-academic activities, I love music and art. I love everything related to music. My friend and I even started music journals in which we write about different artists, genres, instruments, etc. I use art as a way to relieve stress and explore my own creativity. I also love hiking and nature. I plan to explore the outdoors wherever my Pinternship takes me.

Me at Red Rocks Amphitheater for a concert

I’m excited and grateful for the opportunity to learn more about my topic of interest, neuroscience. I hope to do great things later in life, so this internship will be the first step in accomplishing that!

Thanks for reading : )
