It is a bizarre feeling to think my first day in Kentucky was only a month ago. This week was the end of my fourth week in Kentucky and it has been an amazing expicence! This week was packed full of life long memories and  learning a bunch of new skills.

the mojority of Monday was spent working on the office floor. I was in charge of moving empty filing cabinets to their new home. After finishing that in about an hour I worked on my computer calibrating data from previous weeks reserach sessions.

Tuesday I spent in the out patient clinic. For some reason a large number of patients scheduled for Tuesday and Thursday appointments canceled this week. The lack of patients gave me the opportunity to learn a lot. I sat with multiple physical therapists on Tuesday and disscuceed everything from neurological diseases to what college would look like for me if I plan on presueing physical therapy. Leaving the hospital on tuesday I realized I had gained a ton of understanding of the environment around me.

Wednesday was a typical day at work. I spent most of the day sitting in on different tests and evaluations. Wednesday night on the other hand was extremely exciting. My host family and I attended a local blues night here in Kentucky. Any person that has attended Telluride Blues Festival would have lost their mind to know something like this was going on in the neighborhood for free. Multiple world class musicians were there doing what they loved.

Thursady in the outpatient clinic I got to experience a world full of hurt. During some down time the physical therapist hooked me up to an elctro therapy machine. I have experienced electro therapy before so I thought nothing of it. Boy was I wrong! The PT had put two electrodes on the insides of my arm. I did not know how high he was going to turn it up. What I thought was going to be a little buzz turned out to be a full on muscle contraction. The stim completely locked my wrist down in a flexed potition. I can only describe it as the worst forearm cramp of my life!

Firday was a weird day. Due to the global Microsoft outage not many computers in the entire building were working. I spent my day in the standing clinic. For the first I actually got to be the person who held the patient up while they were standing. My job was to push the patients hips forward and twist his left hip more. It was a super sun job but really tiring. The entire time I was fighting the patients body while also holding them up right. Friday night I got to attend a Lou city soccer game against a colorado team! Lou city ended up beating the Colorado springs switch backs but the expinces and environment was a ton of fun!

That was my week! Full of a lot of new things! I am really looking forward to my last two weeks here and  I am still ambiutuos about what I can learn! Thank you again for reading my weekly blog! Until next time Seeyuh!
