Hello,

My name is Siena Parr, I am currently a junior at Dolores High School in Dolores, Colorado. I will be interning at Scripps Research Institute in La Jolla, California for neuroscience this summer. I am mostly interested in pathology, biology, and other health-related fields. I have found a love for science throughout my high school career and was so excited to be able to do a summer internship through The Pinhead Project this year. In the past, I have taken two college biology classes and a college chemistry class through concurrent enrollment at my local community college, and I have taken high school-level forensics, horticulture, and astronomy/geology classes. In addition, I’ve also completed three science projects for the San Juan Basin and the Colorado State Science Fairs, my first project was a chemistry project about fire retardants, my second was a geology project about radon, and my most recent was a plant project about greywater. When I’m not in school I like to spend my time reading, jogging, hiking, or fostering puppies (a project I do with my mom in our spare time). Once again I’m excited to further my science-related journey this summer and hopefully learn a little bit more about myself along the way!

This is me with a group of puppies I fostered last summer.
