Hi it’s Ava again. This week was the most exciting week yet. Asteroid Day finally came! On June 30th I woke up very early to start preparing for the day. My main job was a “speaker wrangler” so whenever a speaker came down into the venue I looked at their name on a checklist that also had their make-up and mic-ing time on it. I told them whether or not they had time to mingle or if they just had to go into make-up to be ready to be on camera. Sadly I did not get a chance to actually watch any of the broadcasts but working was also very fun. The day went smoothly and the day was great. I got to meet so many people and one of the speakers offered me an internship at Lunar Outpost! It was amazing and I’m so happy I got to be a part of it. That night was the big Gala dinner that all the interns were allowed to attend, there was a very delicious four-course meal served and some of the astronauts went up on stage to speak.
After that day we got more free time and some of the other interns and I went to Germany! I had never been before and it was amazing.
Below is a picture of us in Germany, a picture of the astronauts and some of the scientists in front of the gala cake, and a photo of backstage during the live broadcast.
That photo with the “Asteroid Day” cake not only included Astronauts it had the United States Smbassador to Luxembourg!
