Hello again! My name is Amelie and this is my fourth and final week of my virtual internship with Emblematic group. As you may know from my previous posts, Emblematic group is a digital media company focused on immersive virtual, mixed and augmented reality. Throughout my internship, I have learned how to use several different character animation and virtual reality programs to create a prototype of a VR scene for a historical figure. With this being my last week working with Emblematic group, I was able to complete my prototype and present it to the team!
With the start of my fourth week, I met with an Emblematic group member and the other interns that I have gotten to know over the past couple of weeks. In our meeting, we discussed the work we had done since the last time we met and any issues we had run into. With a couple struggles in the past regarding character rigging, I learned how to successfully change certain objects in the way that I wanted. The other interns had been working on other scenes from the same historical event, and we also made sure our scenes matched and looked like a cohesive story. Throughout the week, and with my growing understanding of all the platforms I have been using including REACH, Sketchfab, Bender, and Mixamo, I finished everything for my scene.
This is a picture of me doing some touch up work for a church model in Blender.
Near the end of the week, I met with the team again to discuss our scenes and any last minute questions. The other interns and I then presented our final prototypes to the Emblematic group! Overall, working with Emblematic group was supper cool and was an incredibly rewarding experience. I loved learning about the world of VR and animations and enjoyed creating my own scene!
In my free time, I have enjoyed hanging out with friends and being outside. I will definitely continue to enjoy my summer and will miss the work and people I met during my internship!
