Amelie Sante, Emblematic group, week 1

Hello, my name is Amelie Sante and I live in Telluride, Colorado. This week was the first week of my virtual internship with Emblematic group. The Emblematic group is a digital media company focused on immersive virtual, mixed and augmented reality. Last week I got to meet the team and the two other interns I’ll be working with. We talked about what we would be learning over the course of our internship. 

Tuesday was my first real day where I began to learn how to use the program REACH, a no-code WebXR platform that’s goal is to motivate anyone to create AR and VR stories. I had a meeting with the other interns and Emblematic group who gave us a run down of the platform and taught us how to use it. I had never seen a program like REACH and it was a lot of fun being able to create VR scenes right on my computer. Throughout the week, I began creating a specific VR scene for a project Emblematic group has begun working on that is not yet public. On Friday, we met again to further discuss the project and how the other interns and I can connect our work to create a more immersive scene. In the coming weeks, I will continue to use REACH and potentially other programs to create the virtual reality project.

Because my internship is virtual, it has given me the opportunity to continue playing with my soccer team where we are preparing for our quarter final game. In my free time, I have also enjoyed hanging out with friends and watching America’s Next Top Model.
