Hello! My name is Christopher Pohorecki. This summer I will be attending the OSU Aerospace Engineering Internship for high schoolers in Stillwater Oklahoma, located at the USRI building.
My first and so far only day started with a briefing of what our team is going to work on over the summer. As some may know NASA recently landed their new rover on Mars along with a helicopter named Ingenuity. Although the functions of Ingenuity are minimal, it is used as a proof of concept of flight on another planet. My team has been tasked with creating our own aircraft capable of recording data, flying, and landing on another planet.
Along with the briefing my first day also consisted of a tour of OSU’s amazing building called Excelsior, which specializes in Unmanned System Research. Inside consists of many fascinating projects such as aircrafts capable of flying into and monitoring extreme weather such as tornados.
So far I am having a great time in Stillwater Oklahoma. I primarily spend my time exploring the town with my electric longboard and working out at nearby YMCA. I am very excited to begin learning from experienced engineers!
