Hello again! This will be my final blog post. This week was the twelfth and final week of my internship.
I met with my mentor on Monday over Zoom and we talked about the presentation I would be doing on the monthly CCITT call. She was very helpful, as always. I also practiced again on Thursday over Zoom. On Friday, I joined the CCITT’s conference call. I listened to a great presentation on the wildlife trade in Florida. Afterwards, I was able to give my presentation on the data that we collected over the summer.
It was great to gain experience speaking to a knowledgeable, experienced audience, even if it was on a Zoom call. It was a great way to end my internship. I also did my last week of collecting data to add to our spreadsheet.
Overall, I learned a lot from my internship. I was mentored by someone in my field of interest, listened to presentations by various conservationists, learned about data collection and management, and delivered a presentation. I am very grateful to everyone who made my internship possible, especially to the Pinhead Institute and my mentor, Jennifer Sevin.
Outside of my internship, I spent time with a friend and went tubing with my family. This week was a great way to conclude my summer.
Thank you!
