Hello again! This past week was the eleventh week of my summer internship with the CCITT. I have continued to collect data on online turtle sales in the eastern United States this week, just like during the rest of my internship. I met with my mentor on Monday and Thursday to talk about our findings so far. My fellow intern and I will be presenting our findings to those involved in the CCITT this Friday during their monthly conference call on Zoom. We plan to focus on discussing the states with the most recorded listings, as well as popular species. We have a considerable amount of data for only beginning early in the summer. We have over 800 entries, which include about 600 listed turtles. During our call, we will show different types of listings. We will also share the purpose, method, and findings of our data collection so far. We will be working on the presentation and practicing this week. I have definitely learned a lot from my internship so far! It will be great to practice presenting, especially because it isn’t something I am skilled at yet. I expect next week to be my last blog post, but I’m hoping to be a part of the data collection and analysis in the future.
Outside of my internship, I spent time with my family at Ridgway reservoir tubing and paddle boarding. I was able to bring a good friend that I haven’t seen in a while, so it was a fun weekend.
