Hello! This week was one of my most challenging so far because aside from the graphical user interface (GUI) assignment, all of my remaining assignments have proven to be quite difficult for me. Using PyQt to make may GUI  has definitely been my favorite part of the training because it’s really satisfying to see what I’ve made and the visual aspect really appeals to my style of learning. It’s been fascinating to add so many different layouts, buttons, frames, etc. to my GUI that it has reached the point that I almost have too many features. On Friday, we received another presentation from David about additional features we should add to our GUIs and for the most part, I’ve already added them. The database, configuration file and web assignments, however, have not gone quite as smoothly for me. I met with David on Zoom for help with the database and configuration file assignments which definitely helped, but I still don’t really understand either of them fully. Though I have used HTML in the past, I’m still going to need to relearn a bit in order to use it again for the web assignment.

I also started planning out my final project. I’ve decided on making a tic tac toe game where each square is yet another tic tac toe game. I’ll make a GUI for it and I’ll save the results of the games to a database. Then, I’ll use this database to make a website which will show graphs based on the data to show how much of an advantage the player who goes first gets. My idea isn’t complete, but I’m already pretty set on the objects that I will have to code in order to make the game work.

This week, I’m going to Boulder to stay with my sister for a change of scenery. I’m definitely looking forward to that because quarantining in my room has been boring.
