Week three and we are halfway through. The past few weeks have flown by and it seems crazy that I’m already halfway done. This week was a really cool one filled with people and animals, as always.

The work week was a little busy. As things cool down here in L.A. more and more people come to the center. There were a lot of camps that came by this week as well as large groups of people who were given full tours. We also had a special this week where you could feed Tiny, the giraffe, for $5 a person. This always brings in a lot of people making everything a little more chaotic.

The best day of the week by far was Friday. Friday is the start of my work week and oh boy did it start off great. They allowed me to feed the ring tailed lemurs. These guys are so cute and super food-motivated. They told me to get down on one knee and let them take the food one at a time out of my hand. The second I got down the dominant lemur crawled right up on my lap. It was the cutest thing that has ever happened to me. It was so gentle and its little hands were so soft on my legs. It was definitely something to remember.

I spent the rest of my week talking to people who came to the center and watching as they brushed the siberian lynx, Boomer. For safety reasons I wasn’t allowed to go in and help, but I still was able to touch his fur. It was much softer than I would have ever expected.

Outside of work, my week started off with me getting my butt kicked in bowling. We go often on Tuesdays because they have a special, making it super cheap. Unfortunately it doesn’t matter how cheap it is I’m terrible either way!

The next day we went to Stevie Wonder’s house. When I say this I don’t mean drove by it, I mean I actually went inside and hung out. My host brother knows his son, who invited us over. Their house is so big it could be a hotel. They have a bowling lane inside, and a movie theater. It was wild to be there, but his son was so nice I felt kind of at home.

Over all this week was once again a dream come true. I can’t believe how fast things are going. I can tell already that I’m going to miss this place a lot. See you next week!!!!!!!!
