This past week has been the best week overall. I was kept busy with work and meetings the whole time, and I finally got to meet Vicky. Unfortunately my house and most of the village of Winnetka was flooded on Friday and stayed that way until Sunday, leaving me without power most of the way through Sunday and without any wifi or service until Monday morning. At work, I used QUEST to make more plots of the mass transfer in binary systems. This took a while because the whole super computing cluster was backed up, so my code was waiting in the queue for roughly 20 hours. In addition to meeting with Vicky, I met with Shane Larson, who is another professor working on the team with Vicky, and Aprajita, who gave me another large stack of papers to read and extract parameters from.
Outside the lab, we had picture day on Wednesday. All of the interns and I went to go get milkshakes for lunch on Andrew’s last day working with us. Hopefully the coming week will be as fun!
