This is a foal of a mare that we were treating that was injured in the tornado that took place in the end of May.
On Monday, I began my new “job” at the Oklahoma state university veterinary hospital as a shadow student.
I have made new friends, seen goats get ultrasounds on their eyes, watched cows get treated for different diseases, and observed doctors and students give a lameness test and treat a horse, and look for uterine problems in a horse. I have discovered that I really enjoy theriogenology which is the study of reproductive systems and organs inside of the animals.

This woman, Natalie Baker, opened my eyes to allow me to see all of the possible opportunities I had. I helped her manage the horse farm and she taught me how to artificially inseminate a mare.
I also got to see a few surgeries which I will have pictures of next week to show. This weekend my aunt came to Stillwater and I went to Oklahoma City to tour the national Oklahoma City memorial where the bombing in 1995 took place. I also toured the National Cowboy Hall of Fame. Very fun weekend!
