Monday and Tuesday were days that we were wrapping up our paperwork to get us prepared for the four-day madness of the 2016 state 4-H horse show.
On Wednesday, we drove to Guthrie, Oklahoma and began to set up in the Lazy E arena and started to check in contestants. We set up the entire arena and made everything look nice and organized. On Thursday, the actual show began. Starting at 9 am, I became an assistant to anyone who needed me. I helped kids with their horses, helped parents, helped the judges, and ran around the arena making sure everything was running smoothly. The three days went perfectly.
I also met a young girl who is very mature and it was her first year at the state show. Her mom was so proud of her that when she placed and got her first ribbon, her mother began to cry. This made me realize that I would want to do this in the future because it made people so happy to see their kids succeed.
