Morgan Wright: Aeronautics and Unmanned Aerial Vehicles, Week Two

The second week of my internship at Piasecki Aircraft is complete and my time here continues to be rewarding.

Work continues on the ARES project and the days have seen many meetings and drawings for various aspects of design. Along with recording executive meetings, I have had the pleasure of meeting two of the Lockheed Martin chief engineers for the F22 and F35 programs. Their perspectives and expertise on the joys flight were truly inspiring. It was amazing to see the thinkers behind the formidable weapons of the American air fleet.

While workings with the ARES project have been going on, I have also done a few interesting side projects. I designed and built some basic landing gear for a quadcopter associated with Drexel University. It is part of a much larger program run by Drexel that is meant to help the Department of Transportation  reduce costs in its inspections. Piasecki Aircraft is a sponsor of this project.

And should you run into the Great Philadelphia Lawyer, you might caution him against travel to Reno and dalliances with Hollywood Maids. Tennessee Ernie Ford told me to tell you that.
