I have gone through my second week now. A lot has changed within the the last seven days. I have been located in Reno Nevada. Gary was called to a meeting in Idaho so they had me go to Reno to help his asociate geologist, Lucia Paterson with some off site work.

We logged lots of core samples Timberline had in a few storage units in Reno. The core was drilled in Lovelock NV where Timberline just acquired a property. The previous owners had drilled the site but never got to sampling the core. Taking samples every ten feet or so we ran the spectrometer on all of the different types of rocks and alterations from the holes. Later the spectrometer will tell us what types of clay alterations were in the core that will help with zoning in on potential gold deposits.

While in a central location like Reno I took advantage of it. I met with several people within the industry at there offices, visited the university, and went to a couple of museums. It also happened to be a famous annual car festival in Reno over the weekend and I got to go check out lots of cool cars. (forgot to take pictures)

On my second day off Lucia and I went into the Cascade Mountain Range in California to hike Mount Lassen. it is the largest Shield volcano in USA, and being there with a passionate geologist I learned a lot more about volcanos than I expectd. Overall it was pretty good week.
