K-2 WINTER PE WITH TELLURIDE ACADEMY AND PINHEAD INSTITUTE

At this rockin’ alternative to ski PE students will spend the first half of the day at Pinhead learning snow science and concocting some crazy fun experiments. Afternoons will be spent ‘on belay’ at the indoor climbing wall with Telluride Academy!

Step into the exciting world of game development with Python! In this interactive class, students will learn the basics of programming while designing their own video games from scratch. Starting with simple concepts like loops and conditionals, students will gradually build up to creating fully functional games with graphics, animations, and user interactions.

An alternative for middle/high schoolers for Ski PE!

Dive into the fascinating world where science meets cuisine in our Molecular Gastronomy class with Trang Pham! Designed for students in grades 7-12, this hands-on course explores the innovative techniques and scientific principles behind modern cooking. Students will experiment with cutting-edge methods to transform traditional dishes into extraordinary culinary creations. Cost includes all food and kitchen supplies.

Meets from 1-3pm in the TMHS Culinary Kitchen.

Come join Pinhead at the Wilkinson Public Library for our monthly Lego Club called “Wildcard Lego”. Kids of all ages are invited to come join our fun engineering challenges! Meets the first Thursday of each month, except during breaks.

Do you love Legos? So do we! This class is for kids who want to learn how to program their LEGO creations to move with motors, sensors, and gears. A Pinhead Institute representative will be available to walk kids to Pinhead HQ from the Telluride Elementary School.

Join us for MAD LABS on Tuesday afternoons for a different hands-on, scientific activity each week that will encourage kids to experiment, learn, design, create, investigate, and more. In “Fashion Engineering,” creativity meets cutting-edge technology! This all-girls STEM class invites students to design, prototype, and bring their fashionable ideas to life. Over the first three weeks, participants will learn about design processes such as tessellations and other key elements of pattern-making, using hands-on techniques to prototype their designs. During the final two weeks, students will take their designs from concept to reality by 3D printing their creations and assembling them into functional fashion pieces. Whether you’re dreaming of accessories, wearable art, or something entirely new, this class will help you engineer your vision and explore the exciting world where fashion meets technology!

Pinhead offers a monthly open house for kids of all ages to drop in after school to work on a themed laser-cutting project or create their own on our Glowforge Laser Cutter. Snacks are provided. Parents are welcomed to join in on the fun as well! Come and go any time between 3:30pm and 5:30pm.
